Windham County One-Mile Alerts
Judicial Branch victim guidance documents email notice when a published registrant registers within one mile of an address supplied by the user. The alert is useful for neighborhood awareness. It is not continuous GPS monitoring, and it cannot promise notice before every address change appears.
Use a current email address and check the saved location for spelling. Windham County place names can be tricky: Windham and Willimantic, or Killingly and Danielson, may describe the same general area at different municipal and mailing levels. A direct registry search remains wise after an alert.

Ten Years, Lifetime, and Pardons
Duration turns on the statutory route, release into the community, later covered convictions, and court orders. It should not be guessed from the offense label alone. The Connecticut Board of Pardons and Paroles administers pardon decisions, but a pardon process is separate from a public registry query.

Its presence does not mean a local police agency or Windham court clerk can remove a registry duty on request.

Report Windham Noncompliance
For a suspected address or status problem, use the registry's agency contact or the police agency responsible for that Windham County location. In a resident-trooper town, that may be Troop D or the local resident-trooper contact. In Willimantic or Plainfield, contact the municipal police department. Call 911 only for an emergency.

Local place names can disrupt a geographic query: Willimantic is within Windham, while Danielson and Dayville are associated with Killingly. Search the address as the Connecticut profile would display it. A person also may have moved, may register through another jurisdiction, or may have public dissemination restricted under section 54-255.
No-result screens cannot certify that someone has never had a qualifying conviction. The public registry is not a lifetime criminal-history product and does not display every sexual-offense record. Use NSOPW when another state may be involved, then return to the responsible state portal for its current detail. A spelling error, jurisdiction transfer, or restricted record should not be turned into a claim that the registry failed.
Address Changes and Alert Limits
Registration law imposes update duties, but an address move can occur before every public interface and saved alert reflects it. The one-mile email notice documented in victim guidance depends on the address entered by the subscriber and a published registration event. It is not continuous location tracking, an emergency warning system, or proof that a registrant remains at the same place indefinitely.
Review the profile's update and status fields and use the live record rather than an old screenshot. Report a concrete Windham County discrepancy to the registry contact or correct municipal police or resident-trooper agency. Provide the profile link, location, date, and observed issue without approaching the listed person. Law enforcement decides whether the facts support a compliance investigation.
